Vibing Consciously Blog
Hi, my name is Kat, and I am the writer and creator of the Vibing Consciously blog!
Why I’m Started This Blog
Well, to be honest, I have a lot of information in my head. I have a lot of thoughts passing by all at once, all the time. Some of them are passing thoughts that really don’t deserve much attention, but other ones are worth looking at deeper. I’m more of a verbal processor, which is why I have my podcast, Vibing Consciously, but when I write, I feel I tap into a part of myself that typically sits in the shadows and just watches the outside world - constantly gathering information. As I’m writing, sometimes I’ll uncover truths about myself, and about the world that I don’t feel would have come into my awareness if I were speaking or simply sitting with a thought. When I write, it all comes up and out so smoothly.
Throughout my life, I’ve always loved to write. Whether it be in a diary, gushing about the juicy details of the day, or processing emotions that were way too big for me to keep inside, or writing books and poems. I never know exactly how or what is going to come out until I sit down with a notebook or keyboard. I love this part about writing. It makes it so mystical.
I’ve decided to share this blog publicly because I love how many people are coming out now and making their thoughts known. For so long, we never thought about our thoughts. They were just something that happened, and they were never allowed out. Can anyone relate to having a thought that you would never ever say out loud for fear that you would be judged, ridiculed, or hated? As we have evolved, we have started to become more aware of our thoughts and the impact they have on our lives. This could be both positive and negative. I become more aware every day of just how much my thoughts influence not only my life, but the lives of others as well.
You may be asking how your thoughts can influence other people’s lives… Well, everything we do starts with a thought. If you think about helping a homeless person living on the street, and that thought turns to action, you’ve just changed the life of that person and every person connected to them. Not just monetarily (if you give them money), but in a way of restoring hope in humanity. You may even inspire them to seek a path that lands them a dream job, which can provide money to buy them a home, a car, central AC, and groceries. We cannot fully grasp the impact we can have on others’ lives - and it all started with a thought.
But the opposite can happen, too. Anyone have kids? Have you ever experienced yourself projecting negativity onto your child, and that thing you warned them about actually happens? Most parents will say, “I warned you!” But in actuality… You could have very well been part of the cause. I’m not saying that when bad things happen to your children, it’s all your fault, but this is something we do a lot as parents. We think we are protecting our children by worrying about their future, their health, their education, you name it, but really our worry is being put on their shoulders, and if they’re carrying it around, they will feel it, and it will influence their decisions. All because of an anxiety-driven thought that was based on our experience, and not theirs.
So I think it’s important that we bring some of our thoughts into the world and turn them into action. Just like with the homeless person, you never know who your words will inspire, and how they will inspire them. All it takes is one single idea to change the trajectory of someone’s life. I intend to share ideas and thoughts that I believe will inspire good in the world. But don’t get me wrong… Not everything I say is going to sit well. There’s so much going on in the world right now that has been hidden from us. Unbelievably dark things that really need to end. Covering these topics isn’t easy, but it is necessary. But when I discuss heavy topics, I wrap them in hope and empowerment. Just because it’s heavy doesn’t mean we can’t hold it. Humans are strong. Stronger than we think.
It’s my goal to help you see just how strong you are, just how important your voice is, and just how much you can change the world, simply by being yourself.
What Led Me Here
I see a world divided. I see people disconnected not only from each other, but from themselves. I see AI-generated everything, and so many people not knowing the difference between what is real and what is fake. Everything ChatGPT spits out, people are soaking up. FYI - It’s an echo chamber. It’s made to make you feel good. Not to help you grow. Growth is uncomfortable. Growth comes from experience. Not a computer telling you about the world. The computer doesn’t KNOW the world. It knows language, research, and commands. I know it’s nice when it tells us “it’s okay,” and “you’re not wrong,” but sometimes we ARE wrong. Sometimes we mess up, and we need to learn our mistakes the hard way. It’s just the way it is.
I also see a collective divided from nature. Not many of us know how to grow our own food, build, or sustain life outside of a system that does everything for us. We’ve chosen convenience over discomfort, and I totally get it. I’m a millennial - my parents experienced poverty, war, starvation… Not to mention what their parents experienced. By the time our generation came along, we were worn out. All of that trauma traveled right down through our DNA to us, and we felt the fatigue and exhaustion from all those who came before us, and we snapped.
I definitely don’t want to live the same way my parents and grandparents did, and I am thankful for technology and how our way of living has become easier, but it seems we are leaning more towards one side than the other. The comfort became expected of everything, and now we are raising kids who expect everything right now, without having to work for it. There are benefits to this, so it’s not all bad, but who we are as a species is changing significantly. All of these changes are hard on a lot of us. Some of us want the “old way” back, but I hate to say it, it’s not coming back. The only thing we can do now is take what we have learned and turn it into something that can sustain us as a species and our planet.
I do see initiatives quite often of groups doing things differently. Changes are being made. Did you know 2025 was the first year global renewable energy sources produced more electricity than coal? This is the first time this has ever happened, and that’s HUGE! Global conservation and community projects are seeing major success right now in restoring wildlife habitats and further expanding renewable energy. Additionally, there are numerous initiatives where local leaders are implementing new structured housing programs to reduce homelessness. But do we see this on the mainstream news? No. I very rarely see it on social platforms unless I specifically set my algorithm to it, but eventually the negative leaks come in.
I think it’s so important right now for us to focus on how our world is shifting to support humans instead of suppress them. And to think, none of this would be happening if someone hadn’t shared their thoughts on where they would like to see change.
For me personally, I would like to see change happen around mental illness, split families and friends, and healthcare. I would like to see us become a village again. I would like for the arts to be viewed with the importance they deserve. I would like us to recognize ancient traditions in the US, and start using them in our everyday lives - like following astrological alignments, balancing qi, and tuning into senses outside of the five we’ve been so focused on. As our consciousness expands, it’s possible to see these shifts happen. If we allow these shifts to take place without resistance, we will begin to see our lives change. Our bodies would settle, our thoughts would no longer turn against us, and we would see so much more unique, authentic expression happening among people, which we are already seeing. I mean, for real, I’m blown away by some of the art people are creating these days.
Humans really are special. It’s unfortunate that so many structures in the world have taught us that our humanity is the worst part about us, when in fact, it is our superpower. I hope after reading my blog, you walk away feeling more powerful than you did when you sat down, and proud to be human.
Themes I Explore
If you know anything about astrology, I am a Gemini Rising and have four other placements in Gemini. I’m a Cancer Sun, and Scorpio Moon. What this means essentially is I explore topics from all angles. I can land on one part of the spectrum one minute, and the complete opposite side the next minute. I will always keep you on your toes, never really knowing what to expect.
However, because of all my water signs, it is guaranteed that whatever I choose to explore will always be at the deepest depths. I don’t do surface level. There’s pretty stuff up there, but I’m more about the mystery. I like to explore what isn’t seen by simply looking at the surface.
I’m a neurodivergent girly, so I view life through a different lens than most. I also come from a background of trauma, mental illness, addiction, and poverty. Even though I have integrated much of my past, it still plays a part in my perspective today. I have soft spots for those who feel “broken” because of mental illness or neurodivergence. I tend to hype up the special parts about those things instead of focusing on the negative, because our world has already done enough of that.
I know what it’s like to grieve family who are still alive. I know what it’s like to feel ostracized. I know what it’s like to feel lonely, but be too fearful to risk what comes with connection. I’m still learning to calm my nervous system, and to view the world as a safe place when I can feel so much hitting me at once. I’m also exploring what it means to be a spirit inside a human body. Something I never really thought about until life events challenged me to see myself as more than human.
As we explore together, these things will pop up. I think it’s important they do. I make space for all of it.
In Closing
