May Astrology

In this month’s energy and astrological update, I’m focusing on the most pivotal alignments that have the power to shake up the collective on both a personal and global level, especially Uranus entering Gemini. Uranus entered Gemini on April 25, making May the first full month under this transformative energy.

Uranus has been in Taurus for the last eight years and will now move through Gemini for the next eight. Long transits like this often mark major turning points. Sometimes change arrives gradually, sometimes suddenly, but with Uranus in Gemini, expect movement to come fast and strong.

Before we look ahead, it helps to look back. Life moves in cycles, and what has happened before often returns in a new form. The last time Uranus was in Gemini, the world experienced a massive technological and societal boom as the atomic age officially began, forever changing geopolitics after the bombs were dropped on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945. We were in the height of World War II, forming global alliances, intelligence networks, mass communication systems, and witnessing the rise of mass media. This time, I sense new possibilities for nuclear energy, not as a force of destruction, but as a tool for preservation.

During that era, aviation technology also surged, alongside the birth of modern computing. Everything advanced rapidly, leaving humanity in a state of limbo as we tried to process information arriving faster than ever before.

Gemini rules communication, ideas, and connection. During this current transit, expect breakthroughs that once seemed impossible in how we communicate and interact. I’m feeling an intuitive pull toward widespread hologram technology, deeper integration with robotics, and dramatic shifts in the way we exchange information. Whatever unfolds, there is no avoiding the profound change in mindset that lies ahead.

At the same time, many of the faster-moving celestial bodies are now leaving Aries, which shifts the collective atmosphere in an important way. Aries energy has recently fueled urgency, action, courage, impulsiveness, and the desire to break free from stagnation. It has pushed many people into identity shifts, bold decisions, and long-overdue beginnings. But as planets move out of Aries and into Taurus and beyond, the fire begins to settle into form. What was initiated now asks to be sustained. What was sparked now asks to be built.

This means May is not only about sudden change, but about stabilizing change. The question is no longer just What do I want to start? but What is truly worth my energy long-term? Expect many people to feel the need to slow down, reassess priorities, focus on finances, care for the body, and create foundations strong enough to hold the future that is arriving.

Many will long for the old way of living, as many already do. But with Pluto in Aquarius and Uranus now in Gemini, the old systems are fading. If we want to preserve what matters, we’ll need to become more innovative, embracing new ideas and technological support rather than relying solely on human labor and outdated structures.

That can feel unsettling at first, but change is not always something to fear. Our minds are expanding. We are beginning to witness more of the multidimensional nature of our reality, and that can be incredibly exciting when we release control and learn to move with the current.

With the Full Moon in Scorpio at the very start of the month (May 1), it feels clear that life is not returning to what it once was. We are in a new age, and the shifting tides are pulling us deeper within ourselves, opening perspectives we may not have known were possible.

The Moon governs the tides and mirrors the rise and fall of our emotional bodies. Scorpio rules emotional depth, shadow work, truth, and transformation. When the Moon meets Scorpio, what you truly feel can no longer be ignored. No more lies. No more avoidance. The truth will be revealed in May.
